If West Cumbria is to establish itself as a world-leader in the energy and environment sectors improvements to road, rail, sea, air and “virtual” connections such as Broadband are crucial. This will help businesses to compete within the national and global markets, and at the same time establish West Cumbria as a more desirable place to live, work, learn, relax and visit.
The Connectivity & Infrastructure section of the Masterplan is expansive. Not only does it include substantial improvements to transport links and employment sites. It extends to building a new hospital, providing a better range of housing and sweeping improvements to town centres and the facilities they offer in terms of culture, leisure and sports.
The Britain’s Energy Coast™ Masterplan addresses all aspects of life and the Connectivity & Infrastructure agenda will be the most visible to everyone, regardless of background or age.
