Fostering and promoting the development of cultural, leisure and sporting facilities are vitally important to any local economy.
It is expected that there will be a population explosion from the anticipated growth in the new Energy Coast economy, requiring more cultural, sporting and leisure facilities.
A £50 million programme of cultural, sporting and leisure facilities is being prepared to meet the needs of future residents. Work is being undertaken to develop a ten-year action plan for completion in 2020.
