High quality, sustainable and well-maintained public realm investment can promote a sense of local pride.
£8 million has already been committed of a £80 million ten-year project to oversee delivery of extensive public realm investment in the main towns of West Cumbria, complementing the investment of the private sector.
Allerdale and Copeland Borough Councils are leading on improvements to the public realm and an inter-local authority team has been established to formulate the programme and secure funding.
