High quality communications links are essential for businesses to stay competitive within the market place.
Work undertaken since June 2007 has ensured that West Cumbria boasts 98 per cent broadband coverage. The Broadband Use by Business initiative aims to take this a step further and ensure that West Cumbria the best connected sub-region in the UK.
Funds have already been committed by West lakes Renaissance to make this a reality. The programme will run for five years and help businesses to capitalise on the wide ranging business opportunities that will arise under the Britain’s Energy Coast Masterplan™.
An action plan will be developed by the end of 2008 involving input from West Lakes Renaissance, local enterprise agencies and of course local businesses.
